Description

Tengyud Monastery, belonging to the Ngor tradition of the Sakya branch of Tibetan Buddhism, that used to be located on top of a precipitous ridge near Kaza. As a consequence of the 1975 Kinnaur earthquake that hit the region, the water source of the Monastery dried up and the monks were forced to relocate near the village of Komik where they built a new monastery using materials from the old building.

We drove and hiked to the ruins at night, and a passing car on the road light painted the foreground for me, highlighting the ruins of the 14th century structure.

EXIF:

SKY: SINGLE 240s sub, tracked on Skyguider pro.
Foreground: Blend of 120 and 90s subs light-painted by the headlights of a passing car.
